Want a great, durable bike for efficient commuting year round?
Check out the wide variety of cyclocross bikes now available from us here at Different Bikes or your local bike shop. Cyclocross bikes are essentially toughened-up road bikes designed to work well and go fast on rough surfaces and in all weather. (sounds like winter commuting on the streets and roads of Vancouver!). The frames have wide tire clearance which allows bigger rubber and easy fender installation. They also are generally equipped with stronger cantilever or in some cases, disc brakes. They retain road efficiency touches like drop bars and 700c wheels, but with a somewhat more upright riding position and stable handling. These same attributes make a cyclocross bike a common and cost-effective choice of road riders who want to keep riding in the winter but don’t want to get their sweet road bike covered in the grime and laden with fenders and lights.
Here at DB, we offer a wide range of cyclocross bikes from Kona (Jake series), Rocky Mountain (Solo CX series) and Norco (CCX series), with prices starting around $900. Drop by any store or call us to learn more about what ‘cross bike may be right for you!
